Mondays with Mini (a day late, oops!)

"Mama, next week I'll put coffee on the blob just for you."

Mini's second blog (with Mama's help):
This weekend Granddaddy made us a bonfire by the pool and we roasted hotdogs and told scary stories. Everybody added one part to the story and then Aunt Maggie read a story that was kind of scary and kind of funny about a big hairy toe. Mama wouldn't let me hear too many because she says I'll get nightmares. Mama left her phone inside to play music so she didn't get any pictures.

My blue crystals are finally done growing!

I tried to grow some green geodes but they didn't work. Mama said we can buy some new ones and try again soon.

I really like playing with cups and trying to make castles and towers with them. Mama showed me videos of kids who can do it really fast like magic.

I learned how to draw whales at school and I want to be an "illustratist". I also learned how to draw a frog that ate too much ketchup and a chicken and a chicken wing. Whales are my favorite though.

I drew another picture of one and hung it on my sheet house that Noni built for me.

I love to draw dolphins too!

went to my best friend from pre-k Johnnie Grace's birthday party at a place called Artsy Me and we painted these white animals and Mama said they put them in an oven called a kiln and then they turn into bright colored glass. They had a whale for me to paint! I let Johnnie and Lily put crazy colors on mine and then I mixed them all up so Mama says it may turn out kind of brownish but that's ok. I can't wait to see my whale and Johnnie's horse! I wish Johnnie was at my school. We ate blue cupcakes that made our teeth turn blue. It was awesome. I got Johnnie an Ever After High doll and a best friend necklace. I love Johnnie :)

I hope you liked my blob today!

OOTD: Party in Pirate Boots (ignore the wreath... we're hanging on to every last ounce of summer we possibly can)
This kid cracks me UP! Never a dull moment :) every part of this outfit came from our favorite place on earth.... TARGET! I absolutely love her in red and she loves wearing comfy pants... she gets it from her Noni! A little girl can't go wrong with a printed legging and simple top :)

Fashionably Late Friday

It's almost midnight and I have to be up bright and early for work tomorrow... so of courseee I'm layin' in bed blogging instead of going to sleep! It's fRiDaYyYy, therefore I'm feelin' reckless and wild, duh! My work outfit today was a mixture of neutrals. I am in love with different combinations of black, tan and camel right now.

OOTD: Black + Brown?!! Ex-act-ly... reckless and carefree, just like my attitude today!
Boots: Off Broadway
Dress: TJ Maxx
Scarf: YEP... Wal-Mart!
Purse: Target ($40 STEAL!!!)
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: Lenny & Eva
Earrings: Francesca's

The total cost of this dress+scarf combo was somewhere around $35... AHHH-MAZING! Aside from my shoes and my watch (which was a b-day gift from my handsome boyfriend), you will probably never catch me wearing any individual piece of clothing that exceeds $50. It's so easy to LOOK expensive, very inexpensively. The trick is in the fabrics! I won't buy anything that feels cheap to the touch. Chances are, if it looks and feels flimsy, it will ruin after the first or second wash. Try to find pieces that have sturdy, structured fabrics to ensure that they look glamorous and won't tear up. There are SO many fun, sassy, classy, never-trashy options out there just waiting to be found!

Shopping Tip: Plan ahead! Have a few outfit ideas in mind before you hit the retail therapy session! This will help you avoid making excessive or unnecessary purchases. We've all had that tragic experience where you get home and excitedly unpack the results of what you thought was a successful shopping trip... only to find a bunch of random buys that don't make any sense. I usually save a few pictures of outfit ideas I've seen on Pinterest or Instagram to help steer me in the right direction :)

Mini... for the fourth day in a row... has been wearing her dog suit lol. I am SO thankful that my parents have helped me give her such a beautiful, adventurous and happy life. She is such a special little creature :) growing and changing so quickly right now I can barely keep up!

Meet my new puppy, Christopher Jo :)

Our dessert tonight: coffee for me (of course) and hot chocolate for her!

Watching Earth to Echo with the Noni and Granddaddy... I highly recommend it!!!! It was SO good y'all!

We hope y'all have an absolutely PERFECT weekend :) thanks for stopping by!

Wednesday Wear-Abouts

ATTN: 2 scarves for $5... AT WAL-MART!

I absolutely ADORE finding things at great prices. I also absolutely ADORE scarves. You can imagine my excitement when I saw these 2-pack infinity scarves at Wal-Mart for literally $5! I love that they are super lightweight... in the south, that's about all the "fall fashion" a girl can handle in this 80+ degree October weather ;)

Check out these awesome solids and prints!

A scarf is SUCH an easy way to spice up a simple outfit. I usually pair mine with a comfy blouse and a pair of skinnies. Flats? Wedges? Boots? Anything goes! If you're like me and can't live without some sparkle, add a pretty little earring or bracelet.

OOTD: scarfing down these prices!
Scarf: Wal-Mart
Blouse: Kohl's
Jeans: Von Maur [VIGOSS]
Flats: Target
Earrings: B-Day present I received years ago... Francesca's and most boutique's will carry similar sparkly styles :)

Mama

PS... Mini wants y'all to meet her newest alter-ego, "Christopher Jo", the cutest, sweetest, (most hyper) puppy to ever live!

Mondays with Mini

"What's a blob, mama?" :)

Mini's First Blog (w/ mama's help):
Today I grew crystals with my Noni while my Mama was at school and work. Granddaddy got them for me at Cracker "Burl". They're blue, my favorite color, and I'm not allowed to touch them for a week.... ("Mama, how long is a week?")... That means seven whole days. First me and Noni made the water really hot until there were bubbles coming out of it and then we let it cool down and we poured it in the glass. Then we stirred in the powder for a long time.  The water started turning blue and you had to shine a light in it. Then the crystals just started growing and growing. It's like science... ("I'm not kidding, Mama, it's science.")

DAY 1:

When Mama got home we watched Halloweentown and I made some shoelace bracelets that Katie got me for my birthday party this weekend. I put beads on it that said my cat name, Crystal. Then we played on Mama's computer and looked at pictures of animals. When I saw the pictures of the horses with painted faces I wanted Mama to paint my face so I could pretend to be an Indian.

OOTD- Indian Warrior Princess

Fur Vest: Target
Leggings and Top: Jessi Jayne Vintage Boutique
Feather: Our Backyard ;)

Goodnight everyone and I hope you liked my first blob!!! -XOXO- Mini (and Mama)
